Darvin Ham is out of a job – the Los Angeles Lakers just fired their coach after two seasons on Friday…days after the Purple and Gold were kicked out of the playoffs in the first round.
Rumors of change at the bank began shortly after LeBron James and company lost to the Denver Nuggets… with many pointing fingers at Ham’s lack of leadership or ability to make adjustments.
Lakers GM Rob Pelinka addressed the move in a statement … saying, “We greatly appreciate Darvin’s efforts on behalf of the Lakers and recognize the many accomplishments achieved over the past two seasons, including last year’s remarkable campaign to the Western Conference Finals.”
“We all want to thank Darvin for his dedication and positivity. While this was a difficult decision to make, it is the best course of action after a complete review of the season. This organization will remain steadfast in its commitment to delivering championship basketball results for the Lakers fans around the world.”
The Lakers are expected to interview names like Mike Budenholzer, Kenny Atkinson It is JJ Redick for the vacant position… just like the current Clippers coach Ty Lueif he ends up leaving his current job, according to Shams Charania.
Ham had a 90-74 record during the regular season with the Lakers… and 11-12 in the playoffs, including a 1-8 record against the Nuggets.
