Emily Osment It is Montana Jordan are promising an emotional end to Young Sheldon.
ET spoke with the series’ stars — who play Mandy and Georgie, respectively — at CBS’ celebration of fall programming on Thursday, and they teased what fans can expect from the hour-long finale on May 16.
“I don’t think anyone is ready for the finale,” Osment told ET. “It will really hit you where it hurts. It’s such a beautiful ending to this show. I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.”
Jordan, for his part, called the ending “bittersweet” but noted that the show’s upcoming spinoff, Georgie and Mandy’s first wedding“kind of helps” moderate emotions.
“I’m grateful and blessed that they blessed us with this opportunity,” he said of the spinoff, which will start shooting this summer. “It kind of helps take your mind off things a little bit.”
“That’s true, yes,” Osment agreed. “We are lucky because we have something sweet to look forward to.”
As for what the spin-off will look like, Osment said: “It will be a surprise for us too, but that’s part of it. We won’t know until just before we start filming.”
While they may not know much yet, Osment and Jordan said they hope to have “good luck” filming the new show in O Big Bang Theorysound stage and put it on the air during Young Sheldontime interval.
“Young Sheldonit was relatable,” Jordan said. “I hope to see how people can identify with it, because I think it was a huge success. Young Sheldon.”
