Carlos BarkleyThe Galveston, Texas rivalry is far from over – the NBA legend just got hit with a bunch of billboards all over town after insulting him on national television!!
As we previously reported, Chuck ruffled some feathers in the Queen City of the Gulf after claiming there was “dirty water” on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” … which prompted a response from tourism organization Visit Galveston.
The back and forth didn’t stop there… because now, a bunch of gunfire aimed at the Round Mound of Rebound has started appearing all over the area – and they’re not very nice.
Here are some examples of Outfront billboards:
“Hey, Charles, come down – the water’s fine!” – domesticated, but the message is clear (even if the water is not).
“Our water is cleaner than your golf swing” – this is starting to get personal.
“You’ve never turned down any of our great food.” – ok, now we’re just fat shaming at this point.
The billboards are signed “Love, Galveston,” but it’s a mystery who actually funded the campaign.
Chuck has since apologized to the Galveston native Tina Knowles for disrespecting his hometown… but that was mainly out of fear of suffering backlash from Beyoncethe die-hard fan base, the Beyhive.
Galveston may be hoping Chuck visits and changes his mind… but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon.
