As you may have heard, Rob Marciano is no longer an ABC employee.
The longtime meteorologist was let go by the network on Tuesday, though neither Marciano nor anyone affiliated with the network has spoken publicly about why yet.
Marciano had been at ABC News since 2014, although he was banned from the network’s New York City studio last year for a period of one month… reportedly due to inappropriate behavior.
“It turned out he did something… inappropriate, but he was punished for it and they still haven’t let him return,” a source told Page Six in March 2023.
Even during this punishment, Marciano continued to report on the weather in other locations.
It was an unusual situation.
And many observers believe this is related to the journalist’s divorce.
News of his dismissal comes two years after his ex-wife Eryn Marciano filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage.
Eryn, an Atlanta native, is a successful real estate agent who began her career as a mortgage loan originator.
The couple sold their home for $2.7 million the same month they announced their separation, a decision Marciano admitted at the time was made by his ex-wife.
“The last few years have been very difficult. I didn’t want that and I tried to save the marriage, but unfortunately we are getting divorced,” the then ABC employee said at the time, adding:
“My focus is now on my children.”
In fact, the exes share a daughter named Madelynn, 12; and a son named Mason, aged six.
The family took vacations together to Disney World even as Rob and Eryn were getting divorced.
“Spring Break @waltdisneyworld – during the chaos quality time with the kids was much needed – their joy is, as we say, #magic,” Marciano wrote as the caption of a group photo in April 2022.

Still, despite the pair apparently getting along well… Marciano took the divorce very seriously.
Last year, Page Six reported that Rob was experiencing “anger” issues as a result of their split, with a source cryptically stating:
“He made people feel uncomfortable. There was a period when there were some problems, a series of alarming events.”
We cannot verify the nature of this discomfort; We don’t know exactly what Marciano was accused of doing or if that played any role in his firing this week.
In September 2023, however, Marciano celebrated the beginning of his 10th year at the station, writing via Instagram:
“I couldn’t be more excited to continue this journey with all of you.”
“My thanks to the bosses who listened and made this work-life balance possible. I’m also grateful for an exciting new project with NatGeo that has me exploring some really cool things…more to come!”
This may be true.
But it won’t be on ABC.
