More than 250 thousand POS connections – cash registers were implemented by companies, meeting the target set by the National Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE).
The percentage of companies that did not respond at all to their obligation amounted to around 5% of the total number of companies.
However, there are still some subcategories of companies that, for various practical or technical reasons, did not complete the process by the end of April. Specifically, in the next period it is expected:
- 3,000 companies to connect. This applies to companies whose suppliers have not provided POS terminals due to low credit ratings.
- 7,500 companies with old cash registers and/or POS systems that are incompatible with each other and require immediate replacement.
- Around 30,000 seasonal businesses.
Fines
Companies that have not interconnected their systems and do not fall into any of the above-mentioned subcategories are faced with the imposition of fines if they are unable to justify that they did not do so due to force majeure.
