Sandra Ah recently took on a beloved role for a fun, nostalgia-filled time in The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The actress recently recreated a memorable moment from the 2001 comedy Princess’ diary, in which her character, deputy director Geraldine Guptareceives an important call about an imminent royal arrival at Grove High School.
In the brief moment of return, Oh channels his inner deputy director Guptapicks up a phone and says sternly, “Gupta – Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm,” before hanging up to declare, “The Queen is coming.”
Of course, when she first uttered this phrase in Princess’ diarythe queen in question was Clarisse Renaldi, Queen of Genovia (played by Julie Andrews). This time, however, the actual title refers to Anne Hathaway – a guest on Clarkson’s show.
The intro was a lovely throwback to Hathaway’s breakthrough role as Mia Thermopolis, which she reprized for The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
Hathaway appeared in The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday, where she faced off against the singer in a pop culture music trivia quiz.
As far as the future is concerned Princess’ diary is worried, news of a third installment was reported in November 2022. ET confirmed that the project was underway at Disney and in the early stages of development.
About that, ET spoke with Hathaway in October 2022and the actress said she would return to Genovia for another attempt at the series – especially if Andrews would be willing to play his grandmother again.
“I would more than like to consider it, I’m rooting for it,” Hathaway shared. “If there is any way to involve Julie Andrews, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.”
