kim kardashian doesn’t seem bothered by the release of Taylor Swifthard-hitting new album, Department of Tortured PoetsIt is her supposed Kim diss track, “thanK you aIMee.“But that doesn’t mean she’s not sleeping with one eye open.
The 43-year-old reality star appeared on Monday Jimmy Kimmel live where he wasn’t asked a single question about the online discourse surrounding Swift’s new song and his supposed connection to her.
Instead, Kim talked about her new SKIMS products and detailed some of her most glamorous childhood moments, like being next door to Madonna and spending her 14th birthday at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch.
Host Kimmel also asked a series of questions related to the Internet rumors surrounding Kim, most of which, Kim confirmed, are true.
“Do you sleep with your eyes slightly open?” Kimmel asked.
“I make!” Kim confirmed. “There is footage because my sisters took videos and photos.”
She also shared that she doesn’t get dry eyes from this condition.
Kim also said she hates the sound and feel of cardboard, dries her jewelry before putting it on, and washes her feet every night before bed.
But Kim has been making headlines lately for entirely different reasons. Swifties were quick to focus Swift’s new song “thanK you aIMee” due to the obvious capitalization in the spelling of the title “KIM”.
The song itself is rooted in the story of a hometown bully “throwing punches” at the narrator. As she deals with the “searing pain” of the attacks, she ultimately discovers that it made her stronger in the end.
“And maybe you reframed it / And in your mind, you never left my spirit black and blue / I don’t think you’ve changed much,” she sings. “And so I changed your name and all the clues that really define / And one day, your son comes home singing / A song that only the two of us will know is about you.”
Swift herself has a storied history with Kim, arising from a public disagreement involving Kanye Westthe 2016 song “Famous”. At the time, Kim was married to West.
BrieflyKim previously released a secretly recorded video of a phone call between West and Swift in which they discussed a line from the song.
Although it appears that Swift is approving of the lyrics, it was later shown that the video was edited and that Swift never heard the part of the song that referred to her as “that bitch.”
Last year, Swift addressed the intense public consequences that followed on a Time interview.
‘Make no mistake – my career was taken from me… I thought that moment of reaction would negatively define me for the rest of my life,’ she told the magazine. “It took me psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.”
Kim isn’t the only star fans see as a clear theme in Swift’s new music. Calls were also made with her ex-boyfriends Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy. And many fans think Swift’s new love songs, “The Alchemy” and “So High School,” are references to her current romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
