Van Cleef & Arpels is about to see if “repossessions” are allowed in court… ’cause the luxury brand to want $150,000 back from a thriller it accidentally blessed with that dough!
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ … the jewelry company — with a famous storefront on Rodeo Drive — is suing unknown defendants over the coins it claims it sent in error.
As a well-known Rodeo Drive customer once said: “Big mistake! Huge. Big.”
In the documents, VC&A admits that it involuntarily transferred US$150,000 to the account on May 2, 2023, but says that since then – despite best efforts – the defendants have not responded or returned the money.
Van Cleef & Arpels is suing for the full amount. Think about it, the lawyers don’t even know the name or names of whoever is currently holding the bag – they sued Jane and John Does because they weren’t able to get their real names.
Of course, the $150,000 isn’t a hit or miss — Van Cleef sells jewelry that costs five or six times that amount — but they’re not willing to part with that six-figure sum.
