Michigan politician Matt Maddock is convinced that several buses packed with the Gonzaga men’s basketball team were actually packed with “illegal trespassers” – and despite being proven wrong… he still insists it’s true.
Maddock posted the nonsense on his Page X on Wednesday night… after seeing three large buses being escorted by police away from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
The MI House of Representatives member – a Republican – told his nearly 2,000 followers: “It happens right now. Three buses were just loaded with illegal squatters in Metro Detroit.”
“Does anyone have any idea where they’re going with the police escort?”

It turns out, however, that the passengers in the vehicles were none other than the Bulldogs’ basketball squad – who had just landed in town to prepare for their massive NCAA Tournament game against the No. 1 seed Purdue Boilermakers on Friday.
We know this is true… because the Wayne County Airport Authority confirmed it in a statement for CNN that buses arrived early in the evening to transport not only the Zags, but also the other three teams that will compete in the Sweet 16.

Maddock, however, still swore he wasn’t wrong on Thursday… doubling down – before tripling down later.
“We know this is happening,” he said in a follow-up tweet. “One hundred thousand illegals are coming into our country. We know this is happening in Michigan. Our own governor is offering money to take them in! Since we can’t rely on #FakeNews to investigate, citizens will. The process of investigating these issues they take time.”
