Heidi Klum feels like there was a role waiting for her Sofia Vergara police drama miniseries Griselda.
The model and TV personality was all smiles on the carpet. America has talent red carpet event on Tuesday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Calif., and she spoke to ET about her friendship with her fellow judge.
Although Klum said she was very happy for Vergara with the success of Griseldashe also had to choose about a possible missed casting opportunity.
“I was upset because I thought, ‘Why couldn’t it be one of your cousins?’ I could have been a cousin who doesn’t speak it, because obviously I don’t speak Spanish,” she said with a laugh. “But I could have just stayed, you know, without speaking! I got upset.”
“I could have been one of those beautiful girls too! I would have loved to. But she said, ‘Nein,” Klum added.
In Griselda, Vergara starred as infamous drug kingpin Griselda Blancoknown as the godmother of cocaine, in a Well-received six-episode miniseries which premiered on Netflix in January.
Although they didn’t act together in Griselda, the duo will team up again for the next season of America has talent.
Although Klum says she and her fellow judges also spend a lot of time together off set.
“I mean, we all do other things too – so, you know, sometimes when I’m not here, I do a lot of other shows… and I also have a lot of kids. more time with (my co-stars). But I feel like we see each other a lot,” Klum said. “I always have dinner with Sofia or go to her house and, you know, we do girly things together.”
ET also spoke with Vergara, who was thrilled to be able to share time with Klum during the long days of production and help each other look perfect.
“We look at each other and think, ‘You need more lipstick’ or ‘Your hair isn’t right.’ We are always looking out for each other,” Vergara shared. “I love that.”
“We’re always trying to have fun, because you’re crazy on set for so many hours,” she added.
Season 19 America has talent premieres May 28 on NBC.
