Meri Brown has a lot to say about two people who meant a lot to her.
On Tuesday, the same day that Garrison Brown memorial photos service were made available to the public, this Sister Wives star shared a lengthy post on social media.
“Today, March 26th, marks 3 years since the passing of my beautiful mother and 3 weeks since the passing of our sweet Garrison,” the TLC personality wrote to open this message.

Along with the caption, Meri included a photo of her and her mother (who died at age 76 in 2021) and a photo of her and Garrison (Janelle and Kody’s son, who committed suicide on March 4).
“Grief is a myriad of emotions that include despair and anger, feelings of pain or hopelessness. It is a universal human emotion and a natural response to loss,” Meri continued.
“Grief is also love, because without feeling love the pain of loss would not be so great.
“Grief takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, never knowing the twists and turns that will come, whether you are headed for a turnaround or a nosedive.
“Grief is not linear. There is no schedule or rulebook to follow. It’s not the same for any two people, and no two people deal with it exactly the same way.”
Over the past few days, we’ve heard a lot from members of the Brown family, as several loved ones remember Garrison and pay tribute to the 25-year-old.
Meri, for her part, got candid on Tuesday about how she’s experienced loss — from the deaths of her loved ones to splits from her ex-husband, Kody, and most recent boyfriendAmos, writing:
“I have had my share of losses, both through death and relationship breakdowns, and each loss is individual and has a unique management timeline.”

Perhaps hoping to help others dealing with similar situations, Meri continued:
“Having lost both parents, three brothers and now one of our boys, I recognize my coping mechanisms.
“I recognize when I need to go within and be alone, letting the pain wash over me as I cry alone into my pillow.
“I recognize when I need to surround myself with people I trust to draw strength from them.
“I recognize when I need to try, in some way, for a semblance of normalcy. At every step, it takes a little courage to recognize and give myself that gift.”

Meri had already mourned Garrison a day after Janelle and Kody announced he had passed away.
“My timeline of grief, the way I deal with it, the emotions I feel through it, may be different than yours, and yours may be different than the next person,” she now continued.
“Neither one is right and neither one is wrong. Only that.
“Life will never ‘go back’ to normal after a loss, that specific ‘normal’ will never go back to normal. But it will go ahead. Always advances. It then becomes a question: what will you do in that future?
“What will this new normal look like? What will you do to honor the love and relationship with the person you lost?”

While we wait Sister Wives Season 19 and hearing much more from the Browns on this sensitive and very personal topic, Meri concluded:
For me, I will remember and celebrate the good times and beautiful memories.
I will honor myself and feel the sadness when it arises, because it inevitably will.
But the most important thing is that I will live and love every day of this life!
