After Kelsey’s hometown date in New Orleans, Louisiana, viewers quickly warmed to the junior project manager’s father, Mark. That appreciation was only amplified during Monday’s live finale, when Mark appeared in the audience in support of his daughter.
“I didn’t see it coming,” Kelsey told ET of her father’s popularity. “It’s hilarious. My brother keeps telling my dad he’s jealous. I didn’t see it coming, but it makes so much sense to me. My dad is so amazing. I think he deserves all the hype.”
As for how Mark, a widower, feels about the attention, Kelsey admitted that he’s “definitely kind of weirded out about it.”
Kelsey noted that she tried to put her father in the spotlight by making his Instagram public “so everyone can see the photos he takes of the ocean.” But if her dad starts posting thirst traps, Kelsey joked, “I’m going to have to put this back in private.”
During the finale, the franchise presenter Jesse Palmer hinted that Mark could end up on TV again, leaving many crossing their fingers that he appears the inaugural season of The golden bachelorette.
“I think it could be a possibility,” Kelsey said. “I think we’re still trying to convince him. It’s a foreign concept to him, but he sees how successful Joey and I are, so I think he’s open to it. .”
While The golden bacheloretteThe first protagonist has not yet been announced, many assume that it will be a woman who appeared in the Gerry Turnerseason of The Golden Bachelor.
“I think there are so many incredible women on that season,” Kelsey said. “It’s really hard to narrow it down. I think Joan has a great story. She’s also a widow. Leslie, I really need to connect and she’s also an amazing woman. All the women, they’re just hilarious, they have such great personalities.”
As Mark considers whether or not to embark on his own TV journey, he got some advice from his future son-in-law.
“I told Mark to be careful. I prepared him,” Joey told ET. “I was like, ‘Hey, these women are excited to see you, more than anyone else, I’m sure.'”
