Unfortunately, it has come to this for June Shannon and her children.
After years of estrangement during which the reality TV star neglected her children to spend time with a shady boyfriend and to use a lot of drugsShannon appeared to make peace with her daughters Lauryn and Alana not long ago.
But this reconciliation is over.
And all because Shannon could very well be a thief.
As previously documented this season of Mama June: Family Crisis, the 44-year-old refused to help Alana pay for college.
Citing some concept of tough loveJune told her youngest son in an episode that aired earlier this month:
“If I didn’t care about you and I didn’t care about you succeeding and doing the things you want to do, I wouldn’t be saying this.”
We have no idea what kind of parent conveys this message or thinks this way when it comes to helping with tuition.
But we’re just quoting Mama June here.
Alana said on air that she didn’t expect help from her selfish father, but she made some comments that expressed understandable bitterness.
For example:
“Maybe she thinks paying for (her husband) Justin’s chains or something is more important than putting me through college.”
Shadow cast correctly, we would say.
Now, though, we learn that this problem runs much deeper than June just wanting to accumulate her own money.
Turns out SHE IS STEALING FROM HER OWN SON.
On Friday’s edition of Mama June: Family Crisis, Mama June revealed that she took money from Alana’s Coogan account – a fund where parents of child stars are legally required to deposit a percentage of their earnings – while discussing her plans for the college in Colorado.
Alana finally exploded upon discovering this too.
“Mom is really annoying me because she’s trying to make it all about herself and it’s like where’s my money?” she said through a confessional.
“I’m going to get the truth out of Mom and find out where my money is. Mom won’t get a slap in the face for this.
Heck, even June’s husband Justin was surprised by this revelation.
“Honestly, I was really hurt because I thought June and I should have been able to tell each other everything and if she knew it was going to blow up like this, she should have told me about it,” he explained in the episode. .
And daughter Lauryn?
“I honestly didn’t think she could stoop that low,” she said of the act.
Alana finally started crying when she realized that she didn’t know how she was going to pay for her university studies, addressing her mother as follows:
“You really don’t give a shit that you took our money, that’s the real problem here. That is the problem.”
When the kids challenged their mother about what happened to the money in this special, she admitted that she kept 80% and left 20% for Alana, prompting Lauryn to say:
“I don’t understand what you were paying for, other than the drugs.”
In a subsequent confessional, Alana threatened to take Mama June to “court” because “something’s going to happen because you’re not fit to just get away with stealing my money, baby.”
It turns out that unless something changes, Alana hasn’t sued her mother.

In positive news, we can confirm that she is studying nursing in Colorado – and says she received a $21,000 scholarship!
