Richard Simmons is sparking concern for his well-being once again… this time by announcing that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
The fitness guru says he was diagnosed with skin cancer after a recent visit to the dermatologist — an appointment he made when he noticed a strange lump under his right eye that wouldn’t go away.
Richard said Tuesday in a Facebook post that his doctor removed the mole, examined it and came back with a diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma — the most common form of skin cancer.
As the 75-year-old detailed… he was referred to a specialist, who performed a procedure that involved burning his skin twice – so that all the cancer could be removed.
This is the second time Richard has raised concerns about his health this week. Remember, a few days ago he announced on Facebook that he was dying.
After countless fans posted messages of love and concern, Richard clarified that I wasn’t really dying – more than the rest of us – and he apologized for causing any confusion.
He explained… “Sorry, many of you were upset by my message today… I’m not dying. It was a message about how we should embrace each day we have.”
Richard has been interacting with his fans quite a bit over the past few months – quite a turnaround considering he completely disappeared from the public eye in 2014.

More recently, he has also posted a lot about Pauly Costais planned biographical film about his life – a project by Richard do not give upbut Pauly insists he is moving on.
As for Richard’s cancer diagnosis… he says the doctor couldn’t remove all of the cancer and he’ll be back for another round of treatment.
