Prince William resumed his royal duties on Tuesday as tireless fans continue to invest online in the well-being and whereabouts of his wife, Kate Middleton, despite a recent outing together.
The seemingly carefree Prince of Wales, 41, would return to work at the Millennium Gallery in northern England to discuss efforts to end homelessness with the Homewards Sheffield Native Coalition.
William appeared in good spirits, as he was photographed throughout the assembly displaying a big smile. He joked with a visitor: “This is my wife’s space, she wants to sit right here.”
The future king — who went for the solo outing wearing a blue button-down shirt, navy vest, blazer and pants — also appeared engaged and present during conversations with coalition officials.
This is the first official work engagement William has attended since hanging out with Middleton, 42, at a farmers’ market in Windsor on Saturday, debunking all manner of conspiracies surrounding the princess.
Ever since Middleton had stomach surgery in January and the palace said she wouldn’t work again until “after Easter,” people have speculated online about why she hadn’t really been seen in public.
An edited photo that Middleton posted on Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom further fueled the rumor on the web.
One of the theories that directly affected William was the repetition of an earlier rumor that he allegedly cheated on his wife Rose Hanbury, wife of David Cholmondeley, the seventh Marquess of Cholmondeley.
In 2019, reporters in the United Kingdom reportedly investigated the rumor that the Prince of Wales had been unfaithful to the Princess of Wales with Hanbury while Middleton was pregnant with their third child.
William’s lawyers settled the charges in April 2019, however, stating at the time: “In addition to being false and extremely harmful, the publication of false hypotheses regarding our clients’ private lives also constitutes a violation of their privacy. ”
Amid all the drama surrounding Middleton these days, though, the rumor has resurfaced, with late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert joking, “The domain has been roiled by the apparent disappearance of Kate Middleton.
Royalty’s unmissable extra protection:
“Effectively now, web sleuths are guessing that Kate’s absence may also be linked to the fact that her husband and the former King of England, William, were having an affair. Oh no, my heart goes out to poor Kate.
Hanbury, 40, recently denied the rumor through his lawyers, stating that the dishonest claims are “completely false.”
William and Middleton have been married since 2011 and have three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
This is the biggest dishonest scandal the couple has had to face in their 12-year marriage.
