The Michigan High School Dad Ethan Crumbleywas found liable on all four counts of manslaughter…just weeks after his wife Jennifer I noticed the identical verdict.
FOX 2Detroit
The jury reached their choice of James Crumbley on Thursday after 1 day of deliberations. His sentencing is scheduled for April 9, the same date as his wife’s.
With this verdict, it was found that Crumbley was negligent in disregarding the warning indicators displayed by his son that likely would have prevented the devastating event. Prosecutors said he even bought a gun for his son just days before using it to open fire at Oxford High School in the Detroit suburb of Oxford Township, MI, in November 2021, killing four students.
The decision comes a few weeks later his wife Jennifer’s conviction – which marked a historic moment, as there is no precedent for a father to be criminally charged in reference to his son’s involvement in a mass murder.

Jennifer’s testimony during the trial made clear the role she says her husband, James, played in the tragic events…saying he bought the gun her son used in the shooting and was responsible for hiding it.
She also testified that she was aware that her son was suffering, but had no idea that he was capable of completing a mass capture… saying that if she had known, she would have done everything differently.
Ethan, 17, was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole again in December.
