The woman and her boyfriend then “had sex in another room while (the baby) was lying dead on the bathroom floor,” according to the criminal complaint, as the boyfriend allegedly said they were like “Bonnie and Clyde.”
A lady has been accused by police of drowning her son to prove to her boyfriend that he was her “top priority” – not the child.
Esperanza Rae Harding, 20, was charged with second-degree murder in reference to her son’s death, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Regulation and Crime.
Minneapolis police were dispatched last week to Children’s Hospital to respond to a report of a missing baby. Harding told police that her son died of natural causes in a hospital five days earlier, on March 1. But authorities did not find any documentation that the child was in the hospital, nor did the health professional.

Police then became suspicious and interviewed Harding. She ultimately admitted that her son did not die in the hospital, “but in fact, died in a hotel in Bloomington on February 28, 2024,” according to the complaint.
Harding said the boy had drowned in a bathtub before she wrapped his body and placed him in a backpack; police say she told them she threw his body in a dumpster.
When local Bloomington police took over, they interviewed Harding once again. It was then that authorities said she confessed to drowning her son.
According to law enforcement, she said that “she was courting a man named Edwin Trudeau who didn’t like her baby and wanted her to give (the boy) up for adoption.”
Harding told police he “wanted her to show that (Trudeau) was her top priority.”

According to the statement she gave to Bloomington police, Harding said she was alone in her hotel room and taking a shower the day her son died. She said the boy was in the other room and started crying, which she admitted made her upset because she “couldn’t enjoy the bath.”
According to the criminal complaint, she placed her son “in the full bathtub and drowned him,” and then “took a photo of (her son) floating face down in the full bathtub.”
Attention authorities, they recovered the photograph on his phone.
Harding said she only pulled her son out of the water after he was “run in motion, run in spasms,” according to the complaint.

She admitted to sending text messages to Trudeau during the incident, with officers recovering those messages.
According to authorities, at 4:45 p.m. on February 28, Harding sent a text message to her boyfriend, reading: “he’s doing too much, I can’t sleep, I’m trying, I’m about to do something unhealthy, Please reply me, He won’t be here much longer.”
This was followed by another text from Harding: “He can’t die, I’m executed, if you went to the trouble of filling a shower I can’t use, he can use it, I’m sorry.”
Two minutes passed before she sent a message declaring her son dead, police said.
Trudeau, police say, texted Harding “Okay, fine.” When Harding responded that she was sorry, he wrote again, “Don’t be.”

Police say when Harding said she was attempting CPR on her son, Trudeau told her to stop and texted her “just stop trying” and followed up with a text message “it’s ok I’ll to help”. Later, officials said, Trudeau wrote: “You make things last, we are a workforce, we do this.”
Regulatory Enforcement says follow-up messages from Harding to Trudeau referred to herself as a monster and appealed for recommendations on the best way to get away with it.
She later told authorities that her boyfriend arrived at the hotel after the boy died and claimed that Trudeau attempted CPR. They then “had sex in another room while (the child) lay dead on the bathroom floor,” the complaint states.
Harding told authorities he knew he would be in prison “because he killed his own son.”
The child’s physique has not yet been discovered.
Harding and her boyfriend are currently in police custody. Trudeau was accused of assisting an offender.
Other messages from Trudeau included, according to the complaint: “If you fall, I will fall, no matter what.”
“It will always be us, Bonnie and Clyde.”
