11:03 am PT – Fort Lauderdale police are saying this fight has nothing to do with their city or its beaches – so it’s unclear where exactly this happened… but it’s still pretty crazy.
Spring break is looking more like a UFC match as chaos erupts on the beaches of South Florida… and the good people of Fort Lauderdale are probably saying, “Thank you so much, Miami!!!”
The annual college student flight began on Monday with thousands of students heading to Florida, and it almost immediately spiraled out of control. Several students in bikinis came face to face on the sand – as the video shows, it quickly turned into a melee involving dozens.
No word on what exactly sparked the fight, but we think alcohol played a role.
This is exactly the kind of scene Miami Beach feared when the city imposed new restrictions ahead of spring break — but as you can see, the madness has just moved a little way up the coast to Lauderdale.

Miami’s decision came after two shootings during last year’s offseason, which also resulted in 488 arrests… and more than 230 of those were criminal cases.
As we reported… the city hall posted a campaign video where spring breakers were urged to take the party elsewhere and informed that there would be threats of curfews, bag checks, restricted beach access, and DUI checkpoints.
All vibe killers, so it’s no wonder Fort Lauderdale is soaking up the huge party scene.
A day later, that city had already had to increase police presence… putting more officers on the sand to patrol beach parties, and K-9 units were inspecting sunbathing revelers.
Police or not, one thing is already clear: when the crowd gathers, there will be fights.
